VENTURA OUTRIGGER CANOE CLUB
OUR MISSION
The Ventura Outrigger Canoe Club was created to promote Polynesian outrigger canoe paddling and, within our capabilities, allowing anyone the opportunity to experience the Aloha Spirit associated with gliding across the water under human power alone. We practice outreach within our community and have an adaptive paddling program as well as community service opportunities.
It is our intention to honor the Spirit of Aloha by carrying on the culture and traditions associated with outrigger canoeing and by teaching respect for the ocean and one another as we experience the camaraderie of this ancient sport.
Our red and white canoes are kept at the very end of spinnaker drive at Harbor Cove Beach (locals call it outrigger beach). Our Halau (clubhouse) is right next to the Channel Islands National Park Service.
